NAD+
NAD+ in the T&T Supplies peptide lexicon: research reference with mechanism, reported effects, limitations and literature data. Evidence grade B-.
Mechanism
NAD+ precursors (NMN/NR) raise intracellular NAD+ levels. NAD+ precursors → raise NAD+ pool → sirtuin activation → mitochondrial efficiency. Requires CD38 to be low for optimal effect.
Reported effects
Mitochondrial function in elderly. DNA repair enhancement. Sirtuin activation. Muscle function support in aged subjects.
Limitations
NAD+ levels are highest in young adults and decline with age. 2025 meta-analysis: no significant benefit for muscle function in young subjects.

- Dosage (literature)
- 250-500mg NMN or NR oral. Or 100-500mg IV/IM injectable
